XC02 Introduction to IPsec w/Openswan* (2 Days)
In this course the students will learn about building IPsec VPNs
using Openswan.
IPsec is the IP security protocol, part of both IPv4 and IPv6.
VPNs are Virtual Private Networks, used to connect different locations
together. Openswan is the IPsec implementation for Linux based systems.
At the end of the course the students will be able to configure and
deploy multiple location mesh-style Virtual Private Networks. An emphasis
will be made on managing this network, and wide scale deployment
techniques.
The students will learn the threats and risks to the system, and how to
properly configure the VPN to avoid them.
No Certificate Authority or experience with PKI is required or provided.
This is a hands on course.

- TCP/IP Networking
*Openswan is the commercially supported version of the Linux IPsec
stack, formerly known as "FreeS/WAN".
